From: Vail, CO To: Uganda

Even in my 1/2 week vacation during spring break to do some snowboarding in Colorado -- even there I cannot escape the awareness that is needed for our brothers and sisters in the developing countries, particularly on the continent of Africa. I took some photographs of a Vail Daily article there about Marty Jones, of Edwards CO, who recently traveled to Uganda with Christ-Aid to see through a container shipment delivering clothing, books, and computers to a country in need.

Jones mentions the corruption found (which CFA navigates around) that needs to be maneuvered in bringing aid, "They wanted $4,000 tax for the clothes... then the guys that were going to load it on the truck wanted bribes." In attempting to comprehend just how poor they are -- the people may have only 1-2 sets of clothes they wear all the time, and inmates in prison were even wearing girls dresses because it's all they had. Read page1 and page2 of the article as a jpeg image.
